So most of you by now know that I am a big fan of the UFC. What you may not know, however, is that I've been training to fight in it. Los Angeles is going through a heat wave right now and at times it can be agonizing! I'd like to help you by providing some heat beating tips. But I'm not going to give you the same old tips you already know: get in a pool, upgrade your air conditioning, etc. I'm going to provide you with tips straight out of left field, where I happen to reside most of the year.
My girlfriend works for a ticketing company, which deals with a lot of venues, clubs, and offbeat festivals in both the U.S. and Canada. Being up to date with music is essential for the company, thus many of her coworkers went to Coachella earlier this month, and were dieting for it. Nothing says you’re a music lover more than being a malnourished stick person. It was during this time that a coworker of my girlfriend’s recommended the documentary Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead (available on Netflix) to her, a documentary all about the pros of juicing. This isn’t the type of juicing that involves a needle in your ass but the juicing that involves the liquefying of tasty fruits and not-so-tasty vegetables. This inspired my girlfriend to immediately get a juicer and start a short 3-day cleanse (the creator of the documentary did a 60-day juice diet). To say the least I wasn’t thrilled about the idea, but I joined her in doing so, because I like a challenge and honestly I thought it was my duty as a boyfriend to support her by taking part.
