So most of you by now know that I am a big fan of the UFC. What you may not know, however, is that I've been training to fight in it. And if I'm going to be fighting in the UFC, I have to make a big splash. That's why as of today, I ,Zach aka Paul Rudd's Little Brother, am challenging the one and only Jon "Bones" Jones to a title fight! HO! HO! HO! MERRY CHRISTMAS!
It's that time of year when no matter how hard you try, you can't escape all the songs of Santa and good cheer. We all know that most of these songs are annoying, but maybe my favorite Christmas songs will help you change your playlist up before you blow your brains out. At the very least, you like these songs to some degree too. SO BEGINS THE LIST!: I have been excruciatingly bad lately at keeping up with my blog posts and I am upset with myself over it. I have not been using my time wisely to come up with fun topics, or news to talk about, which has taken a toll on my creativity as a whole.
So here is just a short post stating that fact. I think I really need to sit down and really plan this thing out. Blogging isn't hard, and most times it's fun, but I have a great ability in making everything feel like a chore, or English homework from high school. I need to explore my mind and find the fun a creativity I had when I first started this blog. When I return, I plan to kick much, much ass. Thank you. Middle Of The Road: A Review Of A Mixtape My DAd Made Years Ago (Featuring Music I Use To Listen To)10/8/2014 Remember burning CDs? Before the age of the iPod or the Pandora's and the Spotify's, we use to all burn mixtapes onto CDs and played them in CD players. My dad was no different, having on occasion burned his own playlists, often times using music that I was into at the time. I think that was his point, he really only liked a few songs here and there that I was into, much like him only liking a few things about me *holds back tears*.
Anyways, just last week I stumbled upon an old CD mixtape in my car entitled Middle of the Road. I quickly realized it was one of my dad's from when I was in junior high. I gave it a listen and I was punched in the face with nostalgia, reinvigorated intrigue, regret, and just plain disgust over the music I use to listen to. My palette today is much different, though it was interesting to see what music I still dig now, and what I can't stand, and I thought it would be fun to review this playlist so you can perhaps go through the same internal adventure of rediscovery as I did. By the way, I had no clue then, and I definitely have no clue now, why my dad named the CD Middle of the Road. The title sounds smarter than it deserves. Follow me back to around twelve years ago to the early/mid 2000s, where the world was a much different place. I'm back! After many a vacations, including Burning Man (expect a posting on that very event) I have returned, and I brought my parents with me! Listen to us celebrate my Dad's birthday and chat about film, television, football, and more! Life brings on many changes, some for the better and some for the worse. I've been fortunate enough to recently experience two changes for the better: getting a new job and being approved for a lovely new apartment. Though these changes provide me with more exciting opportunities, sadly they have been taking up more time than expected, and I haven't taken the time to update this blog in over a week, even forgetting to post last week's box office bomb!
I regret this, as this blog is something I enjoy sharing with others. Especially since, during the time I've been gone, I've been compared to Paul Rudd by strangers on three separate occasions. I would have liked to tell them to Google search "Paul Rudd's Little Brother" but I can't send them to a site that doesn't update regularly. So with that said, I plan on doing my best to fix the problem. My girlfriend and I should be fully moved in by the end of the month, and by then hopefully I'll be more assimilated with the hours of my new gig. I can't promise you anything specific in terms of long-term changes or consistency with the blog, but I can give you some stuff in the short-term, specifically right now. Because I forgot to post last week's episode of Box Office Bombs, prepare for two back-to-back posts featuring last week's and this week's episodes. Tomorrow I also promise to write my first real product review over the Playstation 3's Live Event Viewer, so you can learn how it affected my viewing of UFC 175. I love all of you, sorry I've been gone, but it's good to be back.
Father's Day is this weekend and it's time to give the very special old guy in our life a very manly gift because Father's Day appreciation is only shown by the manliest of things....a good ole six pack of Miller Lite, cause it only takes six beers to get him to say "I love you." So I thought I would give my father the manliest gift of all, and that of course is the great art of Haiku poetry! You'll never find poems like these anywhere else, cause they are all from my heart, and all full of man...liness.
